ddgbd Week 3

Drop Dead Gorgeous By December (ddgbd) is a challenge hosted by the lovely Jess atВ Half 0f Jess. If you’re interested in joining us, its not to late!

My week 3 of the challenge went pretty well. Its also the first week of Phase 2 in my Lean Eating Program, so there’s lots to keep me reflecting these days.

Here’s my photo for this week:

It says: “I’m starting to like my arms.”

That’s kind of an earth shattering revelation for someone who hasn’t particularly liked that part of my anatomy much. But I’m building more lean muscle and losing more body fat and along with that some muscle definition. I like it!

My current weight: I don’t know yet. I’m still hoping to find that elusive 199 mark on the scale. We had a hurricane come to visit here in the Maritimes yesterday which is my usual weigh in day. So I will be waiting until tomorrow (Monday) to meet my trainer and do measurements and my weigh in. I’m preparing myself in case I’m still sitting on the 200 mark – anything is possible and I’m not going to let disappointment ruin another good week.

ONE thing I’m proud of from this week: As I sent to Jess I’m quite proud of not letting last week’s weigh in sink me with disappointment. I’m still super proud to have made the 200 mark. Its been a lifetime since I’ve seen that weight, and all of the lesser weigh-ins to follow. Progress is measured by much more than just the scale.

ONE thing I can improve on next week: I want to focus on more ways to build extra protein into my diet. I need to hit about 140g of protein daily for my current program and that means getting creative. I welcome all suggestions!

My goal(s) from now until December:

  • Commit wholeheartedly to following my current PN Lean Eating Program.
  • See continued changes in the right direction, less weight, less body fat %, more lean muscle, more strength, more flexibility – more confidence!
  • Learn more about anatomy and how the human body moves. (Knowledge is power!)

I’m fluctuating around that 200 pound mark too and can’t wait to be firmly planted in onederland. Good luck!

I like your arms, too!! Congrats on reaching a goal in your weight, but remember that the number says nothing about how amazing you are and how deidicated you are to your health. Never let the number ruin your week. Think about your gorgeous arms, and about how strong and flexible you are getting!
Preotein advice: I put cottage cheese in my oatmeal in the morning somedays and use it as a dip. Nut butters are amazing on anything. Getting a yummy proetin smoothie mix that you can mix into milk or oatmeal always works.

Nice guns! That is a great picture. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your weigh in tomorrow.

Whoa! Your arms are looking pretty badass. I’d date them. ;-)

Protein idea: I add a scoop of chocolate whey protein to my morning cup of coffee. Like having a cafe mocha, with a punch.

[...] new workouts. I’m still conquering my new food lesson, which is really up my protein intake. (thanks for the suggestions yesterday BTW!) I was apprehensive about my weigh in for a few reasons. I knew that I wasn’t weighing in on [...]

Look OUT! I gotta be careful around those guns! Your arms look GREAT – isn’t it fun to fall in love with our body (and its parts)?
